Among the specific mandates of the Energy Commission under the Energy Commission Act, 1997, (Act 541), is a requirement to secure a comprehensive national energy database for informed decision making and to facilitate the formulation of sound energy policies with regard to the development and utilization of energy resources in Ghana. This charge requires a reliable energy information management system at the Commission to facilitate the monitoring of energy sector developments and support the sector with good data analysis and energy needs forecasting.
The National Energy Data Processing and Information Centre (NEDPIC) is a step towards strategically achieving this mandate. The Centre aims at becoming a one-stop repository of energy data and information on the electricity, renewable energy and energy efficiency, natural gas, and petroleum industries in the country.
Information from the Centre will be available here soon.
